EldernetAs early as the 1980's Eldernet provided increased communication for senior citizens maintaining independent living and for the frail elderly residing in nursing homes. The pioneering multimedia/multimodal user interface to electronic mail was learnable by even the frail elderly with no more than one hour of training. The work was supported by the Pew Foundation. News of Eldernet was carried in the MIT Technology Review, Best of 1990 issue, The American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry Newsletter (Sept./Oct. 1990), CompuServe Magazine (Feb. 1990),The Swarthmorean (Sept. 6,1989), and in many other newspapers.
